How did voter modeling develop, and how does is work now?

While the use of data for electoral purposes dates back more than a century, there is qualitatively new data on the electorate and new techniques for analyzing it.  This panel will bring together practitioners and academics to discuss the history of voter data, the techniques of data analysis and voter modeling, and its role in contemporary campaigns.  Panelists will provide a background on voter modeling, discuss its strengths and limitations, and address how it is used in contemporary campaigning.
